Filgrastim adalah suatu protein "non-giycosylated" yang murni, terdiri dari 175 asam amino. Filgrastim dihasilkan dari strain bakteri Escherichia coli yang telah diubah secara genetik dengan penarnbahan suatu gen untuk menghasilkan "granulocyte-colony stimulated factor".
